Public Outreach Activities

VELCO sent a 45-day notice package of information to the Towns of Coolidge, New Haven and Vernon and to their respective Regional Planning Commissions. Neighbors of the three affected substations were included in the 45-day packet mailing to notify them of the proposed project and to provide them with an opportunity to comment or ask questions.

On February 17, 2011, VELCO public outreach staff met with the town managers of Ludlow and Cavendish to present project details and answer any questions. A presentation specific to the Coolidge Substation was distributed.

Interested people, such as landowner, local citizens, public representatives, and others members of the public, can sign up for a Project Update email to receive periodic information about the project's status.
